Auditions for The True (Not Exactly True) Story of Thanksgiving, comic operetta

Seeking vocalists to be cast for Open Classical’s production of The True (Not Exactly True) Story of Thanksgiving, Mark Landson’s comic operetta  that tells the story of Thanksgiving by changing the words of famous operatic vocal works. 8 person vocal cast. Dallas performances at Four Day Weekend Theater off Lower Greenville, Fort Worth performance at Four Day Weekend Theater in Sundance Square.

Pay for this show is $75 per service, either performances or rehearsals. Minimum 3 performances and 5 rehearsals. $600+ total.

Preliminaries are by video or audio recording. You may either send previous examples that show your work or create audio or videos specifically for this audition using the repertoire in the show noted below. iPhone videos are sufficient to get a callback if they show your basic vocal quality and range for the roles needed. Acting ability is highly valued for this show.

Katherine Carver (Coloratura Soprano).

Priscilla Mullins, “Pilgrim Girl” (Soprano or Mezzo (high note of G) with some Coloratura).
