Mandy Milliot is currently an undergraduate student at SMU’s Meadow’s School of Music, studying with renowned soloist Andres Diaz. At the age of 11, Ms. Milliot discovered her love for cello and quickly rose to the top, earning awards and scholarships along the way. Summers were spent at intensive music festivals in Florida, North Carolina, and Boston. At the age of 17, Mandy was presented the Ruth Eckerd Hall Young Artist Competition Scholarship by Sir James Galway. At the age of 19, Mandy held her first professional solo recital with the ArtistSeries of Sarasota, in Sarasota, Florida to glowing reviews.
An avid chamber musician, Ms. Milliot has performed both with string quartets and as Orchestral Principal Cellist throughout the United States and Europe, including tours in Italy, Austria and France.
Ms. Milliot performs regularly around Dallas, including solo recitals, chamber concerts, and especially new music by new composers. Ms. Milliot has premiered several works by new composers during her tenure in Dallas, and has a passion for promoting new composers’ works. She has also performed with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra and the Allen Philharmonic.
